Vols stay steady at No. 3 in latest AP poll for fourth-straight week

KNOXVILLE — Tennessee basketball just keeps winning and dominating.

Following their latest triumph, a 96-53 win over Tennessee Tech last Saturday, the Vols improved to 11-1, and are set to venture into their SEC slate on a 7-game win streak with wins over then-No. 1 Gonzaga, Memphis, Louisville and Wake Forest.

The problem is, No. 1 Duke (11-1) and No. 2 Michigan (13-0) keep winning and dominating as well, and as a result, the latest Associated Press Men’s Basketball Poll for week nine, which was released on Monday, has the Vols at No. 3 for the fourth straight week.

The Vols managed to receive 12 votes for No. 1, three more points than No. 2 and undefeated Michigan.

Tennessee will take on Georgia (8-4) on Saturday at Thompson-Boling Arena to open SEC play.
