Lester McClain will be honored as Vols' Legend of the Game vs. Missouri

KNOXVILLE — Lester McClain will be honored as the Vols’ Legend of the Game against Missouri.

McClain became the first African-American to play football for Tennessee, debuting on Sept. 14, 1968 against Georgia.

The sophomore wingback from Nashville played three years for UT, totaling 70 receptions for 1,003 yards and 10 touchdowns and scored twice on the ground. McClain was on the 1969 SEC Championship team.
