Vols' APR score 'not bad, not great' as 5-7 teams are not projected to go bowling

KNOXVILLE — Earlier today, Jeremy Pruitt addressed a bowl scenario in which Tennessee (4-5, 1-4 SEC) would be eligible with a 5-7 record.

Pruitt said he would accept a bowl bid at 5-7, citing “we need all the practice we can get.”

Tennessee would have to rely on their current 972 APR score that ranks tied for 52nd nationally in receiving a bowl invitation.

Is 972 a score good enough for Tennessee to go bowling with a 5-7 record?

Jerry Palm of CBS Sports tells Vols Wire that Tennessee’s current score is “not bad, but not great.”

Palm currently does not have the Vols in his bowl projections and is “not projecting a need for 5-7 teams.”
