Carlin Fils-aime: 'I just wanted to help the team any way that I can'

KNOXVILLE — With running back Jeremy Banks making a move to linebacker for the South Carolina game, defensive back Carlin Fils-aime returned to running back.

Fils-aime rushed for 20 yards on three carries and scored a touchdown in the loss at South Carolina.

Fils-aime totaled 273 yards on 45 attempts and scored four touchdowns in his prior two seasons as a running back at UT.

“I just wanted to help any way that I could,” Fils-aime said of last week’s game. “I didn’t know that I was going to get in, or what was planned. All I know is, I was ready for anything, and they called me to go in. I was happy, of course, just being able to contribute for the team.”

Jeremy Pruitt and UT’s coaching staff moved Fils-aime to defensive back when they arrived at Tennessee. Once discussions were brought up about moving Fils-aime back to the backfield, the Naples, Fla. native wanted to do whatever was needed to help the team.

“I just wanted to help the team any way that I can,” Fils-aime said. “Ever since the first time that I got here, I told the coaches it didn’t matter what position they put me in.”
