KNOXVILLE – No. 1 Alabama defeated Tennessee 58-21.

Tennessee (3-4, 1-3 SEC) will need to win three more games to become bowl eligible.

The Vols travel to South Carolina Oct. 27 and will need to bounce back from the Alabama loss.

Following the Alabama game, Jeremy Pruitt said that the way his team responds is “really yet to be determined” and “we’ll see what they do on Monday.”

“I think our guys have kind of turned a corner in how they practice and compete,” Pruitt said. “But it takes more than seven on defense and five on offense. It takes 11 guys.

“You might have guys trying to do it the right way, but maybe they don’t execute — or maybe today, that wasn’t good enough. So we have to continue to work hard and improve.”
