Grant Williams addresses preseason expectations

KNOXVILLE — Junior forward Grant Williams took part in Tennessee’s media day ahead of the 2018-19 season.

The 6-foot-7, 236-pound 2018 SEC Player of the Year made it clear that he and his teammates are not going to let winning the SEC regular season championship last season get to their heads.

“Coach Barnes is not going to let that go to our heads and also we are an older team now,” Williams said. “When we were freshmen and sophomores, that is different to you. You have never been ranked that high or never had that number ranking by Tennessee, but you are really playing for Tennessee.

“When we think about it, we think about going everyday and fighting for not only for ourselves but for our teammates. We always have each others back and that is something we pride each other on and to continually do that is huge for us.”
