Jauan Jennings 'back participating at full speed'

KNOXVILLE — It has been a process for Jauan Jennings in getting reinstated to Tennessee’s football program and overcoming injuries.

Jennings missed all of last season with a wrist injury and missed spring practices due to a knee injury.

Jeremy Pruitt updated Jennings’ status following practice August 22.

“Jauan is back participating at full speed and it is helping cut some of the reps for the wide receivers so they can stay a little fresher towards the end of camp,” Pruitt said.

Pruitt said Jennings “took some snaps the other day” and “banged his shoulder up so he was in a black jersey.”

“But today he was out there taking some licks and he needs to take licks,” Pruitt said of Jennings following practice on August 22. “When you have a black jersey on, it’s obviously no contact. If you look, those are the guys traditionally at camp that turn the ball over because they are not used to getting beat on and tackled, so it is good to get him back because he needs some of that.”
