Pruitt on Peterson: 'He’s finishing up a class, and when he gets the class finished up, he’ll be here'

KNOXVILLE — Jeremy Pruitt was asked about Tennessee incoming freshman linebacker JJ Peterson’s status following the Vols’ second scrimmage of fall training camp.

“He’s finishing up a class, and when he gets the class finished up, he’ll be here,” Pruitt said. “Would we have liked it to been last week? Absolutely. But that’s part of it. You’ve got to do it, and he’s working hard to do that.”

Peterson’s high school head coach Rush Propst of Colquitt County in Moultrie, Ga., told Vols Wire on August 15 that the Tennessee commit is still working on getting to UT before classes begin.

“He will be there hopefully by the time school starts at Tennessee,” Propst told Vols Wire. “He is working every day to get there.”

Fall semester classes at UT begin August 22.
