Savion Williams commits to Tennessee: 'He is a specimen of a kid'

JUCO defensive tackle Savion Williams has committed to Tennessee.

The 6-foot-4, 313-pound defensive lineman plays at Lackawanna C.C. in Scranton, Penn., and will not enroll early at Tennessee.

Lackawanna C.C. head coach Mark Duda discussed Williams with Vols Wire.

“He is a specimen of a kid,” Duda said of Williams. “He will be playing a five-technique at tackle this year for us, but he is really versatile on the line of scrimmage and a powerful kid.”

Lackawanna C.C. runs a 3-4 defense and Williams will play a three-technique at times.

“He is a big, dominant guy,” Duda said. “He can rush the passer, too. Savion will be a good addition.

“He has came a long way and is a raw kid, a powerful guy and a heck of a prospect with a huge upside. He is going to be a tremendous football player.”
